While the rupee’s value against the dollar plunges to a historic low, sources in the government have expressed optimisim that the value will stabilise soon.
Sources said that the recent freefall in the value of the rupee was a result of imports and exports resuming in the wake of the standby agreement with the International Monetary Fund.
In addition to the trade, Pakistan also had to make international payments that further pressured the rupee.
However, the government expects an increase in remittances from the next month, leading to some stability in value.
