Two dead, one injured after triple shooting in Washington DC

At least two men were killed and another wounded after a triple shooting incident in Washington DC, the US, in the early hours of Saturday, the police said.

“Another act of senseless violence has occurred in this area where two individuals have lost their lives and one has been transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injured,” Washington DC Police’s Acting Chief Pam Smith said in a video statement.

The officers responded to the location of Adams Morgan neighbourhood in the 2500 block of Ontario Road Northwest at 1am. They had received calls regarding the sounds of gunshots.

Upon arriving at the site of the incident, they found three men who had been struck by bullets.

“Even though we are in the preliminary stages of this investigation, we are asking anyone who may have seen anything, heard anything, or if you have video camera footage or video surveillance, we are asking you to contact the Metropolitan Police Department,” Smith said.

“The string of shootings over the last two weeks, including the ones in Adams Morgan and U St. last night, is upsetting and devastating to our community,” said a statement from Ward 1 Council member Brianne Nadeau available with the Fox 5 DC, a news outlet.

“I want to express my condolences to the family and friends of the victims in last night’s shootings. And I want to let neighbours know that I share your concerns and fears, as a councilmember, a neighbour, and as the mother of two young girls who I’m raising right here in Ward 1,”

The police were looking for a man driving a blue Mercedes with a license plate that reads AC666 which they claim was linked with the shooting.
