The dollar continued its rise against the rupee on Tuesday with a Rs1.08 increase in the open market.
After the increase, the dollar was trading for Rs289 in the open market.
The dollar’s increasing strength has been a trend over the past few days. The dollar has gained a Rs12.50 in value over the last eight days.
The cash injection from the International Monetary fund and friendly countries stemmed the fall of the rupee only briefly.
