Indian cricketer Harmanpreet Kaur was trending on social media on Sunday for her misbehaviour during and after the final match against Bangladesh on Saturday.
A couple of her videos kicking wickets, speaking about umpiring, and teasing the Bangladesh women’s cricket team skipper at the presentation ceremony were trending on social media.
“I mentioned earlier some pathetic umpiring was done and we are really disappointed,” she said when asked for her comments after her side tied the final match of the three-match series.
She was also heard asking the umpires to join her and Bangladesh women’s cricket team skipper Nigar Sultana at the presentation ceremony.
“Bring the umpires too,” she said that upset Sultana who led her team back to the dressing room. But later she, along with her team, came for the ceremony where they were seen together in the photo.
“It is totally her problem. I have nothing to do with it. As a player, she could have shown better manners,” Sultana said in the post-match conference.
There were reports that Kaur will be fined 75% of her match fee for her behaviour. Fifty per cent for smashing the wicket and 25% for what she said during the presentation ceremony.
