Islamabad’s district administration announced a ban on the use of drone cameras for two months on Friday.
The district administration said that anyone who violated the ban would be charged with section 144.
Sources said that the ban was imposed to improve the security of sensitive security installations and their occupants as well as ensuring general law and order in the city.
Islamabad’s deputy commissioner has issued instructions to all assistant commissioners, magistrates and police officials to ensure compliance with the new orders.
Aerial drones are not only used by citizens but are also popular with news media organisations, especially during protests or rallies.
