Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Pervaiz Elahi was detained under the Maintainance of Public Order for 30 days on Sunday.

Ordes by Lahore’s district commissioner said that Pervaiz Elahi will be detained at Camp Jail, where he is already incarcerated.

Elahi had managed to get bail from the Lahore High Court in a corruption case and the orders for his release had been brought to the jail on Saturday. However, the jail superintendent had refused to release him on technical grounds.

The court has also issued a show cause notice to jail officials over failure to release Ealhi from jail.
