After weeks of speculation, former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Pervez Khattak has announced that he will form his own political party.
Speaking to reporters via telphone in Nowshera that establishing a new political party was his highest priority and he is already in consultation with his aides about file work and other formalities.
He also added that his ways had been firmly split with the PTI and he would have nothing to do with the party anymore. He also added that if forming a new party did not work, he could announce joining any other party.
In a tweet on Sunday, Khattak added that misleading information being attributed to him should be ignored.
“The news circulating in media regarding my statements is completely false,” he said, presumably in response to a statement that said he had challenged Imran Khan to contest elections against him.
Khattak was recently terminated from the PTI over failure to respond to a show cause notice. The notice had accused him of trying to break away people from the PTI.
Khattak has served as the party’s president for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, as the province’s chief minister as well as the defence minister as part of PTI.
