Khurram Hameed Rokhri claims PTI Chief handled Adil Raja

Istihkam e Pakistan Party’s Khurram Hameed Rokhri has claimed that the PTI chief was directly handling YouTuber Adil Raja and was in regular contact with him.

“Raja is an important character in spreading propaganda against the country. He provoked every agenda which could negatively affect Pakistan,” he said while speaking with Shaukat Parach on Aaj TV show Faisla Aap Ka.

While referring to Raja’s accusations against Pakistan’s political and military leadership, Rokhri said that the PTI and its overseas supporters have brainwashed young minds. “You will find the PTI fan boys as rude and disrespectful. It will take a lot to rehabilitate them from that state of mind.”

Adil Raja was released on police bail on Wednesday after getting arrested by UK’s counter-terrorism police earlier in the day on suspicions of encouraging acts of terrorism inside Pakistan.

He was detained at a police station in relation to the complaints filed by authorities in Pakistan with the UK authorities. He was released after being questioned by the police.

The Islamabad police on June 12 also registered a case against Raja for allegedly inciting people to attack military installations throughout the country on May 9 after the arrest of PTI chief.

Analyst Mazhar Abbas, who was also on the show, said that the criminal justice system of Pakistan has collapsed and it is being used for political victimisation.

“These things have been going on for years in Pakistan. All these cases are used for political point scoring. The government and institutions passed resolutions condemning the May 9 riots, however, not a single trial has been initiated against the perpetrators,” he added.

The authorities should try the PTI chief or any other perpetrator in courts who is accused of arson on May 9, he said, adding that the interior minister has been continuously holding conferences, but he has not done anything regarding the events of May 9 and Wazirabad.

Prime Minister’s Coordinator on Economy and Energy Bilal Kiyani said thatRaja has been spewing venom against Pakistan. “His only agenda is how to incite hate against the state institutions. They should be held accountable for their crimes.”

Responding to a question regarding the trials of the May 9 perpetrators, he said that the government is keeping it a priority to bring to justice all those who were involved in the violent protests on May 9.
