Gold prices continued on an upward trajectory in Pakistan even though the price fell in the international market.
The rate fell by $5 to $1972 per ounce in the international market.
However, prices in Pakistan increased by Rs2,000 to Rs237,300 per tola on Monday. The price per 10g increased by Rs1,714 to Rs203,446.
The increase in the rate of gold can be attributed to the value of the Rupee which has been in freefall since the last year. On Monday, the dollar was selling for Rs288 while the open bank rate crossed Rs303, according to forex dealers.
