The Karachi police found a ten-year-old boy’s body from a grey Cultus parked in a ground in Zaman Town, Korangi, on Friday night, after the child went missing in the morning.
Police have detained the vehicle and arrested the car’s owner, Shahzad, as well as Asim, the watchman of the parking stand.
SSP Korangi Sajid Amir Sadozai said that police are conducting DNA tests of both suspects.
The victim was identified as 10-year-old Hussain. The boy’s uncle told the police that the child had gone missing on Friday morning. The relatives filed a report in Zaman Town Police station.
Police surgeon Dr Summaiya Syed said that the victim’s body bore marks of torture.
The victim’s father, Muhammad Meezan, registered a case of murder at the Zaman Town police station. According to the FIR, the child was tortured after being molested.
The FIR stated that the victim’s uncle and, Ayaz Sheikh, told him about the child’s disappearance. Hussain’s father is a rickshaw driver.
Residents of Zaman Town protested against the murder.A large number of protesters were children holding posters demanding justice for the victim.
The protesters said that they would not tolerate children being murdered. They said that the police had been unable to curb crime, including robberies and child harassment.
A large number of residents participated in Hussain’s funeral Saturday.
