Who is pushing country towards civil disobedience? asks Rasheed

Veteran politician Sheikh Rasheed said on Sunday that economic stability can only come to the country if the Supreme Court establishes rule of law.

Taking to twitter on Sunday morning, Rasheed said that elections within 90 days are the red line of the constitution and it will have to be considered who is pushing the country towards civil disobedience.

He also said that with inflation at 42%, the country was at the verge of default while the poor have already defaulted.

“The whole nation’s eyes are on the Supreme Court,” he wrote, adding that only an SC decision can save the country.

He also said that the ruling coalition is trying to create a divide in the Supreme Court on the pattern of 1997.

The mention of 1997 is presumably a reference to the event when PML-N workers stormed the SC building where Nawaz Sharif had been summoned for contempt proceedings.

The Supreme Court took up a suo motu notice of delay in elections for the Punjab and KP assemblies on Thursday.
