Pakistan rescue team received a round of applause at Istanbul airport as they leave for the earthquake-hit Turkiye.
The video of the standing ovation to the team was circulating on social media, where the airport staff can be seen standing at the sides and clapping for the rescuers as they walked to board the plane.
Pakistan Embassy in Turkiye also posted the video and shared the details of their rescue work.
“The team was doing the rescue work in Adiyaman and Hatay, where they successfully carried out live evacuations and facilitated many more with their expertise and equipment.”
A deadly earthquake of 7.8 magnitude hit Turkiye and Syria on February 6, followed by another 7.6 magnitude quake along with several aftershocks. It broke along about 100km of the fault line, causing serious damage to buildings near the fault.
