Islamabad High Court realeased Sheikh Rasheed on bail on Thursday.
The court asked Rasheed to submit surety bonds worth Rs50,000. The decision was announced by Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani.
Rasheed’s lawyer, Salman Akram Raja, told the court that the bail was being denied so the politician does not make the same kind of statements again.
“If he does not repeat his crime, the court can consider what to do,” the advocate general told the court.
The politician has was arrested on February 2 from a private housing society in Islamabad. He also has cases against him in Murree and Karachi.
He was booked for accusing Asif Zardari of being involved in planning an assassination attempt on Imran Khan.
