Nothing but a pack of lies, says Imran Khan on shooter’s statement

LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan reiterated on Tuesday that he has no problems with the army as an institution, saying that the problems arose over accountability.

The PTI chief said this while speaking to journalists in Lahore.

“I knew that they would kill me which is why I had already recorded the video,” he said, referring to previous statements that he has recorded a tape with the names of four people which would be made public if he were killed.

“It was known that there would be an attack in Gujranwala or Gujarat,” he said.

Imran also criticised the Punjab government over the the non-inclusion of names of ‘accused’ in the first information report, saying that the investigation would have established their non-involvement if they were innocent.

He accused Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah of managing the investigation while accusing the Punjab government, his ally, of protecting the accused Naveed. “His (Naveed’s) statement is based on lies and lies have no legs.”

When asked whether the army chief would get another extension, Imran said that it was a million dollar question.

Responding to another question, he said that a coalition government should not be formed. “Otherwise you will always get blackmailed.”
