KARACHI: The dengue has infected nearly 300 more people in major cities of Pakistan during the last 24 hours, said a report on Tuesday.
The report said that Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad recorded a total number of 296 cases of dengue in a single day.
According to statistics released by Health Department, 142 patients, infected with dengue, were brought to Lahore hospitals alone meanwhile 418 patients were already receiving dengue treatment in different hospitals.
Similarly, in Karachi, 117 more people were diagnosed with dengue, taking the total tall of infected patients to 5,212 during this month. So far, 47 people, mostly from Central and East districts, have succumbed to death due to dengue.
Islamabad, on the other hand, reported 37 cases of dengue and out of them, 16 have surfaced from rural areas and 21 from urban localities.
District Health Officer (DHO) Dr. Zaeem Zia highlighted that the total number of dengue cases have gone to 4,409 in Islamabad. There were eleven patients brought in the PIMS hospital.
