The popular Spanish label, Balenciaga, has collaborated with PepsiCo-owned Lay’s potato chips maker to produce an accessory that mimics the shape of an empty bag of chips.
Georgian fashion designer Demna collaborated with Lay’s on a line of bags resembling its potato chip packs in red, green, blue and yellow - the colours of different flavors.
It even has a metallic silver lining and zipper at the top to complete the resemblance. The visible difference if you look closely enough is the subtle Balenciaga branding.
Balenciaga debuted its latest fashion trend at the Summer 2023 “The Mud Show” presentation, and the videos suggested it looks exactly as if you were clutching a packet of Lay’s on your way to the movie hall. The Lay’s bag was a staple accessory for the fashion show’s models.
Lay’s shared the Balenciaga runway looks on their Instagram page a few days ago.
The company recently sold the “world’s most expensive garbage bag“ for $1,790.
