Maryam Nawaz departs for London

PMLN Vice President Maryam Nawaz left for London on Wednesday morning.

When she arrived at the airport, Maryam Nawaz said she was speechless and wanted to immediately see her father.

Maryam Nawaz will be seeing her father Nawaz Sharif after three years. The former prime minister left Pakistan in November 2019 after being allowed to seek medical treatment abroad by the courts.

Several passengers were milled around Maryam when she arrived at the airport. Many of them took selfies with her.

The PMLN leader got back her passport from the Lahore High Court, almost four years after it was taken into court custody over a NAB case.

At a press conference, she held shortly after receiving the passport, Maryam Nawaz said that NAB never filed the reference against her despite detaining her for months.

Maryam Nawaz will be traveling on the Qatar Airways flight via Doha. Her flight departs at 9:45am from Lahore’s international airport.

She will stay in London for a month and return to Pakistan on November 6.
