People in Karachi took to the streets in the wee hours of Tuesday against the hours-long loadshedding, amid hot weather. Lyari Expressway was reported to be jammed as people demand the government take notice of the situation.
At least two people died of coronavirus in Pakistan over the last 24 hours, according to the National Institute of Health. Around 333 cases were reported and the Covid positivity ratio stood at 2.42%.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that Pakistan was soon to sign an agreement with the International Monetary Fund, saving the country from going into “default”. Addressing the allies, he hinted at a further increase in loadshedding in July.
At least three people died and more than 50 were injured when the train collided with a truck in the Missouri state of the United States. The injured people were shifted to the hospital by helicopter.
