The plane of a private airline flying from Karachi to Peshawar survived disaster by a whisker after being caught in inclement weather.
Air Blue flight PA602, with over 100 people on board, was en route to Peshawar on Thursday night when it was caught up in strong weather.
The turbulence caused panic on board with amatuer videos made by passengers capturing the fear on board.
In the video, passengers can be heard praying and crying while some call for calm. Others tightly held on to their seats as they veered between a life and death situation thousands of feet above the ground.
Quick-thinking and presence of mind on part of the captain brought the situation under control.
Instead of landing the Airbus A320, the pilot increased altitude and circling around the airport. In the interim, air-traffic control (ATC) was contacted seeking immediate permission to land.
There was relief and joy as the captain landed the plane safely at Peshawar airport.
