The FIA, after a month, has closed the defamation case filed by actor Sana Javed against several of her colleagues for a ‘smear campaign’ run against her on social media.
Sindh FIA cybercrime head Imran Riaz announced on Twitter, “the provided evidence was closely scrutinised by the legal team and the content found was about sharing of personal experiences of different coworkers while at work with Sana Javed,” he said.
“The technical team also could not find any evidence of a planned smearing campaign against her,” added Riaz in a subsequent tweet.
The tweet by the FIA officer was shared by makeup artist Omayr Waqar and stylist Aneela Murtaza, two of the people who had received a legal notice from the actor.
Taking to his Instagram story, Waqar wrote “what a slap,” while Murtaza said, “what a kick.”
Almost a month ago, Model Manal Saleem had shared on her Instagram story how Javed belittled her on set. “Requesting all the clients to not ask me to shoot with any actress/celebrity ever again. With their self-entitled attitudes they think we are 'do takay ki models,” Saleem had shared her experience without naming Javed in her posts. “The audacity to say that on my face! Hum bhi kam krne atay hain, muft main zaleel honay nahi atay,” she had added.
Waqar had reposted Saleem’s story on his profile and said, “guess who is she (Saleem) talking about? P.S it's just one person, not all actresses are the same.”
Many of Javed’s colleagues then spoke up against her bad behaviour and work ethic on social media.
In a response to the allegations, Javed issued legal notices to Saleem, Waqar and Murtaza accusing them of launching a “proper smear campaign” against her.
