A video shared by a journalist on Twitter showing PTI MNAs hanging an effigy of "traitors" outside the Sindh Assembly has caused much outrage and concern on social media.
The video, shared by Yusra Askari on Wednesday, shows some PTI MNAs shouting "hang the traitors" in Urdu as an effigy is lifted on the walls of the assembly to be hanged.
PTI leader Khurram Sher Zaman tells people watching that the group has "hanged the traitors" today.
PTI's MNA Haleem Adil Sheikh can also be seen in the video.
The group is ostensibly referring to the dissenters who had left the ruling party ahead of the no confidence vote against the prime minister.
Last month PTI workers, along with some leaders, stormed Sindh House in Islamabad to protest the dissenters who were staying there. Then too, there were charged slogans against the "traitors."
The prime minister too has threatened dissidents with severe consequences.
"We will bring case against them… They shouldn’t only be banned for lifetime, they should be thrown in jails," said Imran Khan in his speech on Tuesday at an event in Lahore.
Many took to Twitter to condemn the incident seen outside the Sindh Assembly.
Journalist Zarrar Khuhro called it playing with fire.
Journalist Zebunnisa Burki also commented on the video saying PTI seemed "hell bent on dragging the country into chaos and violence."
Journalist Fahad Desmukh compared the situation to something similar in India in his tweet.
