On the occasion of Pakistan Day, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhary Fawad Hussain said the country's economy was growing and we need to "renew our commitment" to make Pakistan a great nation following the footsteps of our elders.
He said this on the 48th meeting of Organisation of Islamic Council (OIC) Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) in Islamabad on the occasion of Pakistan Day's 75th anniversary, reported Radio Pakistan.
With prayers for the progress and prosperity of the country, he said, the secret of Pakistan's development and stability lies in democracy.
In a tweet on Wednesday, Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Farrukh Habib said the purpose of establishing Pakistan was to make an Islamic democratic and welfare state. He also said Prime Minister Imran Khan is pursuing the agenda of making Pakistan a welfare state on the pattern of Madina.
Meanwhile, Minister for Interior Sheikh Rashid Ahmed in a message on the occasion said the dream of the country's founders for an Islamic and welfare state would certainly materialise.
He congratulated the entire nation and said March 23, 1940 was a key day in the foundation of Pakistan as the Lahore resolution became the basis for the creation of Pakistan.
The creation of Pakistan was based on a great philosophy and a mission, he said, adding the country was striding towards a great Islamic and welfare state, with an independent foreign policy and a strong economy.
