**Social media users are praising Palestinian-American super model Bella Hadid for announcing solidarity with Muslim women and their right to wear the hijab.
In a series of Instagram posts, Hadid spoke about the discrimination against women who choose to cover their heads and called for it to stop.
In her third Post, Hadid called for justice for Muslim teen girl Hoda who was brutally beaten and had her hijab ripped off in Otago Girl’s High School in New Zealand.
Social media users are all praise for Hadid for speaking up for the rights of Muslim women.
One person said that we need more celebrities like Hadid who could use their platform to give a voice to the oppressed.
Some people criticised Bollywood actors and big Indian personalities for remaining silent regarding the Indian hijab row.
One person accused Malala Yousufzai of “sleeping”.
But not everyone is impressed by Hadid’s announcement of solidarity with the hijabis.
“Bella Hadid, the American supermodel famous for wearing alluring designer outfits is giving sermons to muslim women about veiling and Hijab,” wrote one person on Twitter.
Hadid is no stranger to using her social media profiles for supporting causes close to her heart. Last year she spoke up against Israel’s occupation of Palestine, and was accused of anti-semitism. It was rumoured that Hadid also lost a contract with high fashion brand Dior because of her stance.
