A school trip ended in tragedy after a boat carrying four teachers and thirty one students capsized in Khanpur Dam on Tuesday.
According to media reports, one teacher drowned as the boat split into two after hitting a rock due to low water level in Khanpur Dam.
At least four children were in critical condition and provided medical treatment. The rest of the occupants of the boat were safely rescued.
In March last year, at least two persons were killed when a vehicle carrying tourists fell into Khanpur Dam.
The vehicle in which the family of five from Islamabad were travelling skidded off the road and fell into the lake. Three people were rescued alive while two dead bodies were also recovered.
