Pakistan has recorded 95 deaths of coronavirus in the last 24 hours which is the highest tally in the fourth wave of Covid, according to the data released by the National Command and Operation Centre on Saturday.
The positivity rate of the infection stands at 8.24 per cent.
Of the 57,233 Covid tests conducted in the last 24 hours, 4,720 people test positive for the virus.
Just a day earlier the number of fatalities from the virus was 67.
The increasing number of the infection is troublesome given that the provincial governments have imposed multiple forms of lockdowns in several parts of the country.
Sindh went into a partial lockdown last Saturday until August 9. The NCOC then imposed lockdowns in several cities across Punjab like Lahore, Rawalpindi, Multan and Faisalabad, in a bid to contain the spread of the coronavirus.
