Pakistan has recorded 67 deaths of coronavirus in the last 24 hours according to data released by the NCOC on Friday. The positivity rate stands at 8.18%.
Of the 57,981 people who took a test for Covid, 4,745 tested positive in the last 24 hours.
Data also reveals the number of active coronavirus cases stands at 79,992.
Just a day earlier the positivity rate was at 9.1%, the highest it's been since May.
This is especially troubling given that several parts of the country are in various forms of lockdowns.
Sindh went into a partial lockdown last Saturday until August 9. The NCOC then imposed lockdowns in several cities across Punjab like Lahore, Rawalpindi, Multan and Faisalabad, in a bid to contain the spread of the coronavirus.
