ISLAMABAD: Unidentified attackers assaulted journalist Asad Ali Toor and brutally tortured him. The journalist was rushed to hospital in critical condition.

The attack on Asad Ali Toor, who produces a show on Aaj News, has again raised concerns about the worsening state of media freedom in the country.

According to sources, Assad's condition is out of danger. Police officials reached on the scene.

Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry has taken notice of the case and ordered the Islamabad police to investigate the matter.
