Yesterday, Pakistan saw a significant dip in the coronavirus positivity rate as it dropped to 4.96%, the lowest percentage in several weeks. Previously, the daily infection rate remained, on average, around 7-10% for the past several weeks as the third wave of Covid-19 dominated the country.
In the past 24 hours, 62,061 people were sampled for the viral infection out of which 3,084 were found to be Covid positive, taking the national coronavirus tally past 900,000. As per the global Covid-19 statistics, Pakistan is the 29th most adversely affected country in the world and most likely the next to exceed the grim milestone of 1 million cases.
