Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry on Thursday shared that Peshawar High Court (PHC) has lifted the ban on TikTok. The ban was ordered by a single-member bench of the same court.
Taking to Twitter, Fawad Chaudhry said that PHC suspended the ban imposed by a single-member bench last month on the premise that the app was used to spread immoral content. The decision was announced after a citizen filed a petition seeking a ban on the Chinese video-sharing app.
In his tweet, the federal minister urged that Pakistan should be careful while taking decisions that may cause harm to the economic future of the country:
"Pesh HC has suspended the operation of single bench judgment, ban on @TikTok_Paki has been lifted, my submission is let's be very careful while taking decisions that may affect the Economic future of Pak, we need a framework to encourage int companies so to make Pak their investment hub."
