National Assembly secretariat closed till March 16 in wake of rising COVID-19 infections

ISLAMABAD: Amid rising coronavirus infections, the National Assembly Secretariat has been closed till March 16.

As per details during the closure period, IR department and R&D branch will remain operational, while the government affairs will be carried out with 50% attendance from March 17 and working hours will be from 10 am to 4 pm.

It has been decided to partially suspend all activities of the National Assembly due to increasing cases of corona virus.

According to the notification, meetings of the National Assembly Standing Committee, Public Accounts and Special Committees have been canceled.

The National Assembly Secretariat will be closed for the next two days for anti-corona spray. CDA has been directed to disinfect all offices with disinfectants. Staff have also been instructed to conduct immediate tests in case of symptoms of corona virus. ۔

The IR and IT department of the National Assembly will remain open for essential functions. From March 17, half of the employees will come to the office. The concerned officers will be able to call the necessary staff to the office.

The mask has been made mandatory for entry into the National Assembly Secretariat while the transport service of the National Assembly Secretariat will also be suspended till further orders.
