Amidst all the commotion generated by Prime Minister Boris Johnson's confirmation of a new strain of novel coronavirus in the UK and the ongoing Pfizer vaccine drive, the pandemic situation is getting worse every day in the country.
The UK is the 6th most adversely affected nation in the world by this deadly flu bug, both in terms of the total cases reported and coronavirus-related deaths confirmed.
With 570 people succumbing to the lethal viral infection in the last 24 hours, the UK became the sixth country to report more than 70 thousand Covid deaths. The other five countries are the US, Brazil, India, Mexico, and Italy.

The novel coronavirus is still quite rampant in the United Kingdom. Just in the past week, 245,119 people have been confirmed as Covid positive. Also, at least 3,662 Covid patients have died due to the lethal flu bug in the period. The government and health officials are pleading to the public to strictly follow coronavirus standard operating procedures (SOPs) as directed by the local authorities. Especially the citizens living in the higher tier areas are being advised to restrict themselves to their homes to stem the spread of the virus.
