ABU DHABI: Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi called on Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
During the meeting, issues of mutual interest, including bilateral relations and the promotion of bilateral economic cooperation, were discussed.
Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi conveyed the best wishes of Prime Minister Imran Khan and the Pakistani leadership to the leadership and people of the United Arab Emirates and said that the two countries have deep bilateral ties based on religious, historical and cultural foundations.
Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that Pakistan was keen to further strengthen its fraternal bilateral relations with the UAE through the promotion of bilateral trade and economic cooperation in various fields.
He said that millions of Pakistanis living in the UAE have been playing their role in the construction and development of the UAE for the last several decades.
Next year, Pakistani pavilion in the exhibition (Expo 2020) in Dubai will showcase the decades-old friendship between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates.
On the occasion, the two sides agreed to enhance cooperation in the field of agriculture between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates. The Foreign Minister appraised the Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum of the difficulties faced by Pakistanis residing in the UAE and stressed the need for their speedy resolution.
Earlier, UAE Ambassador Hamad Obaid Ibrahim met with Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi in Dubai to discuss bilateral relations and the promotion of bilateral cooperation in various fields. NNI
