Just three countries i.e. the United States, India, and Brazil have more than half of the confirmed global cases of novel coronavirus infection.
Out of over 31 million total covid cases globally, more than 16 million have been reported in the three countries. This means that 51 percent of total coronavirus patients belong to the US, India, and Brazil.
Coronavirus has affected almost every country but some countries have really been devastated by this viral disease. The virus that originated in Wuhan, China in December 2019 took over the world in just a couple of months and has been dominating the world since then.
As of today, the USA is the most adversely affected country by COVID-19. With more than 7 million cases the country alone accounts for about 22% of the global cases. Over 200,000 people have succumbed to COVID-19 in the US.
The second worst-hit country is India which has reported over 5.5 million cases so far. The number of new cases has been increasing at an alarming pace in India. The second-most populous nation in the world has been reporting at least 65,000 new cases daily for the past four weeks. It's projected that coronavirus cases in India may even overtake the United States in the next few weeks.
Brazil is the third most-adversely affected country with over 4.5 million coronavirus infections. The viral disease has shaken the largest Latin American country. More than 137,000 people have already died in the country due to COVID-19 and the deaths are still piling up.
Health experts have warned that the number of cases is expected to increase in countries that are still not following COVID-19 SOPs. The only cure to this viral disease will be a vaccine that won't be available at least till mid-2021. Until then, the only way to keep the tally of new cases low is by wearing masks and avoiding social gatherings.
