KARACHI: At least four people been injured and many are feared trapped under the rubble as a factory building collapsed near Siemens Chowrangi in Karachi's Sindh Industrial & Trading Estate (SITE) on Monday, reported media. Ranger is conducting a rescue operation

According to the details, there were godowns on the ground floor, a plastic factory on the first floor and residential rooms on the second floor. The rooms were mostly occupied by labourers.

There were fewer worker inside the factory at the time of collapse due to prayer break, said SITE Station House Officer (SHO) Ayaz Khan and added that police has asked the factory owners for complete details of people who were present inside the factory when it collapsed. However, according to media reports, the owners have fled the scene and cannot be reached via phone.

Police and rangers are present on the location and conducting a rescue operation.
