Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi joins a long list of Pakistani politicians to be infected with novel coronavirus infection in the past couple of months.
Qureshi, 64, had been at the risk of contracting the virus as he was actively taking part in the government's daily tasks. Senior PTI lawmaker notified the public of his positive test via Twitter.
He said that he felt a slight fever in the afternoon today and immediately quarantined himself at home and subsequently tested positive for the novel coronavirus later in the day. He added that he was feeling strong and that he will continue to carry on his duties from home.
Reacting to this news, the general public and several politicians including the current opposition leader Shehbaz Sharif wished the minister a speedy recovery.
