PM launches app 'Zindagi' aimed to control drug abuse

Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has launched the 'Zindagi'  app which features information on narcotics control and was aimed at raising awareness about the dangers of drug abuse.

According to details, the application will carry all necessary information about narcotics and drug control.

Addressing the event, On Monday the premier said drugs are destroying the lives of the country's youth. "There was a time when we heard there were drugs in universities. Now drugs are present in schools," the prime minister noted.

"The most vulnerable section of our society – our children – are being exposed to drugs, when they don’t have the maturity to deal with the issue."

He added that since protecting the youth from the menace of drugs and narcotics is among the top priorities of the present government, this application will prove to be a stepping stone towards achieving the target.

“There are two alarming issues pertaining to the youth of Pakistan: rape and drugs. Such incidents damage the image of society and the country as a whole. The issue cannot be left upon police or anti-narcotics force only as we all have to play our due role,” he said.
