'Ring of Fire' solar eclipse engulfs Pakistan

KARACHI: The annular solar eclipse named 'Ring of Fire' began in parts of Pakistan on Thursday morning..

According to Meteorological department, the solar eclipse will start from 7.30 in the morning and would continue till 10.30.a.m. The eclipse will be visible all over Pakistan, especially in Karachi and Gwadar.

According to researchers, it would be an ideal celestial gift this time as it will cover 97% of the center of the sun.

However scientist have warned people not to look directly at the sun without any protective eye apparatus as it could damage their eyesight. The radiation will be much more direct than it was during the last solar eclipse that occurred 20 years ago.

The solar eclipse will also be visible in Eastern Europe, most of the Asia, North and West Australia and Eastern Africa.
