ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Thursday appeared before the anti-terrorism court (ATC) in cases pertaining to the sit-in by PTI and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) in 2014.

As the proceeding commenced, the investigation officer informed ATC Judge Shahrukh Ajrumand that Khan has appeared for the investigation by extending full cooperation and is no longer an absconder.

Khan's counsel Babar Awan aruged in court that they have already challenged the jurisdiction of the ATC in the case, and the court should first decide on the matter before proceeding with the case.

However, the public prosecutor argued that there are solid pieces of evidence against the PTI chief of instigating supporters towards violence, adding that he is in violation of 10 sections of the Anti-Terrorism Act.

The anti-terrorism court then adjourned the hearing till December 11.

'Model Town inquiry report exposed Shahbaz Sharif'

PTI chief took a jibe at Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif stating that the Model town inquiry report issued by Justice Baqir Najfi has exposed the ill will and lies of CM Punjab.

He also demanded CM Punjab and Rana Sanaullah to resign immediately.

Khan while showing his utmost support towards Tahir Ul Qadri said that he along with his party will support Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) if they take it to the streets.

Both PAT and PTI leaders are accused of destroying property in the Red Zone, attacking the state TV channel’s building and injuring SSP Junejo during the 2014 protests.
