Islamabad: Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal has convened an emergency meeting of Ulema belonging to all schools of thought in Islamabad today to discuss situation arising from the sit-in at Faizabad Interchange by a religious group in the federal capital.
According to Interior Ministry statement, final consultation would be held with Ulema to cope with the situation.
The meeting will also evolve a course of action to keep the nation united over Khatm-e-Nabuwwat issue.
Interior Minister has urged the religious group protesting in Islamabad to obey the law of land and call off their sit-in as the law regarding Khatm-e-Nabuwwat has been made more sound and effective.
Addressing a news conference in Islamabad, he said that no one can even think about compromise on the issue of Khatm-e-Nabuwwat.
The Minister said public pressure on the government is increasing and despite Islamabad High Court's orders, the government is avoiding to take strict action-Radio Pakistan
