HYDERABAD: The three day 274th annual urs celebrations of great Sufi Saint and Poet Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai began at Bhitshah Town from Saturday with traditional zeal, enthusiasm and festivity in presence of tens of thousands devotees.
The Acting Governor Sindh Agha Siraj Durrani officially inaugurated the urs celebrations by laying “Chaddar†floral wreaths and offering fateha at the mazar of Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai.
He also distributed clothes among deserving females and heard the Raag of Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai at the premises of the mazar.
The Acting Governor Sindh also inaugurated the cultural village organized by Sindh Culture Department at Shah Jo Baag where he also enjoyed with traditional Sindhi breakfast. He visited the stalls of the folk artists and appreciated their performance.
Aghar Siraj Durrani also inaugurated the agro-industrial examination where various provincial government departments including Sindh Agriculture and Sindh Livestock and Fisheries departments set-up stalls highlighting the development in agriculture, livestock and fisheries sectors of the province. —APP
