KARACHI:The Karachiites braved a hot day on Saturday as the maximum temperature in the metropolis soared to 40.5 degrees Centigrade.
An official of the Met Office said the heat wave in the city is expected to persist till Friday.
He said the winds have also changed their direction from southwesterly to northwesterly, increasing the temperature.
The Met Office has forecasted hot and dry weather for Karachi during the next 24 hours.
Maximum temperature is expected to range between 38 to 40 degrees Centigrade during the period.
The maximum temperature recorded in the metropolis on Saturday was 40.5 degrees Centigrade whereas the minimum was 25.5 degrees Centigrade.
Humidity in the morning was recorded as 60 percent while it was 21 percent in the evening.—APP
