Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan on Wednesday forwarded the report of Dawn Leaks Enquiry Committee to the Prime Minister.
The recommendations of the report have been made unanimously by all members of the committee. The report has been completed in a period of over 6 1/2 months during which the committee met 6 times. The committee initially constituted a sub-committee which was headed by the Establishment Secretary. The sub-committee met 16 times for examination of witnesses and scrutiny of the entire record.
The committee was headed by Justice Amir Raza Khan (Retd) and included Tahir Shahbaz, Secretary Establishment, Najm Saeed, Ombudsman Punjab, Usman Anwar, Director FIA Lahore and a representative of MI, ISI and IB each. Action on the recommendations will be taken after approval by the Prime Minister.-Business Recorder
