The government has reportedly decided to remove Tariq Fatemi from his position as Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs in the wake of Dawn Leaks inquiry commission report, according to sources.
In a similar move the government had to force former Information Minister Pervez Rashid to step down on October 29, 2016, citing that as information minister he had failed to stop publication of a highly controversial story in Dawn.
Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Saturday last said that the members of the inquiry commission led by Justice Amir Raza Khan (retd) have developed consensus over the report and it may be submitted to the Ministry of Interior within two or three days. After receiving the report, he said the ministry will forward it to the Prime Minister accordingly. The government on November 07, 2016 constituted an inquiry commission including the representatives of intelligence agencies to probe into the issue.-Business Recorder
