Premier Nawaz Sharif shocked, saddened over Mashal Khan's murder

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has condemned and expressed extreme grieve over the murder of Mashal Khan, student of Wali Khan University, Mardan, on Saturday, Aaj News reported.

According to reports, the premier remarked that he was "shocked and saddened by the senseless display of mob justice that resulted in the murder of a young student".

The Prime Minister also adds in a statement posted on Pakistan Muslim League (N) official Facebook, "let it be known to the perpetrators of this act that the state shall not tolerate citizens taking the law in their own hands".

He also adds, "No father should have to send his child off to be educated, with the fear of having him return in a coffin".

Lastly, the Premier asked nation to stand united and condemn this unfortunate incident and promote tolerance, "The nation should stand united to condemn this crime and to promote tolerance and rule of law in the society".

Earlier on Thursday, a journalism student Mashal Khan, from Wali Khan University was murdered brutally over liberal views. The probe has been started and eight suspects have been charged so far.
