Syed Muhammad Raza and Kashif M. Sethi are two experts from the Pakistani marketing industry who recently went to Harvard University, USA. Attending a course on social media at the prestigious Ivy League university, Raza and Sethi gained considerable knowledge during their venture, which they were very excited to elaborate on.
Raza, who is also Senior Brand Manager of Seasons Canola, spoke highly about the importance of properly utilizing digital media during the modern age, stating, “Digital and social media marketing campaigns are often centered on the tactical delivery of the brand content.†He further clarified, “These campaigns tend to lack the most important objective of what is being said and how whether or not the message taps into what people really care about.†Needless to say, this is only the tip of the iceberg from what the two professionals got to learn from their endeavor.
This venture proves that Pakistani brands should be more open about exploring such opportunities and taking bigger initiatives. According to Raza, the opportunity to attend the course at Harvard University was “like a golden ticket to success.â€
In other words, staying resourceful and not being afraid of experimentation is the only way the Pakistani digital marketing industry can stay on par with the rest of the world when it comes to digital media. Hopefully, Raza and Sethi will be the first of many more marketing professionals from Pakistan to take the big leap to Ivy League. -PR
