Nawazuddin slammed Bollywood for not paying tribute to Om Puri

WEB DESK: The versatile actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui showed disappointment over Bollywood award functions for not paying tribute to one of greatest actors Om Puri.

The actor recently shared a tweet on his official twitter account, saying, "the academy awards paid homage to late Om Puri but in Bollywood award functions nobody converse single word for his contribution... SHAME".

It is noteworthy that the biggest award event in Hollywood honored late actor who died earlier this year. And Siddiqui got upset over not paying tribute to such a legend who serves the industry for years and entertain his fans across the globe with his incomparable acting skills.

The late actor, Om Puri, who died at the age of 66 earlier in January was not only popular in B-town but he had successfully secured his place internationally as well. He gained fame for performances in movies such as City of Joy and Wolf, Gandhi and East is East.

The family of the late actor express gratitude while talking to Indian Express as they mention,"Om Puri, the only Indian actor to have worked consistently in Hollywood and British cinema for the last 25 years, without a fuss and letting his work speak for itself, today the Academy of Motion Pictures acknowledged his contribution at its 89th Awards. The first and only Indian actor to be acknowledged thus. Thank you Academy. Thank you everyone. We miss you Om. We miss you lots.”
