Three khasadars and two civilians embraced shahadat when a suicider blew himself up on being challenged at the gate of Political Agent Office in Mohmand Agency on Wednesday.
According to ISPR, another suicider was shot by the security forces.
Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has expressed grief over loss of precious lives lost including FC personnel while thwarting attack on the office of the Political Agent Mohmand Agency.
In a statement on Wednesday, he has highly commended the selfless and dutiful role of Armed forces in protecting the lives of citizens without fear of death. He further stated that it is the sacrifices of armed forces that has made the motherland's security impregnable.
The Prime Minister also expressed condolences with the bereaved families of the martyrs.
President Mamnoon Hussain says protection of lives and property of the people will be ensured by eradicating the menace of terrorism from the country.
In a statement on Wednesday ,he said those who are stopping the terrorists by sacrificing their lives, are the benefactors of the nation.
The President appreciated the security forces personnel for foiling the terrorists bid in Mohmand Agency.
Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Iqbal Zafar Jhagra also strongly condemned suicide attack in Mohmand Agency.
He lauded the role of security forces in foiling the attempt.
The governor said the sacrifices of security forces in elimination of terrorism will not go waste.
He said the nation is united to root out terrorism.
