BAHAWALNAGAR: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader and former MPA from south Punjab Shaukat Basra was injured while his personal assistant was killed in an armed clash took place in Punjab's Bahawalnagar district on Monday, Aaj News reported.Â
According to the details, the PPP leader was holding a protest sit-in against a National Assembly. An armed clash broke out between supporters of PPP and PML-Z during the protest in Haroonabad tehsil of Bahawalnagar district.
Basra's personal assistant Imtiaz was killed when unknown armed men opened indiscriminate fire at the protest camp while several people including Shaukat Basra being injured.
The body and injured were taken to a local hospital. Meanwhile, police rushed to the spot and took the situation under control. Further investigation is underway.
