CHICAGO: This winter, brutal weather has made Chicago chillier than the planet Mars. Many Chicagoans are actually thinking to move to somewhere warmer.Â
According to NASA, the temperature on Mars is around minus 2 degrees Celsius (28 degrees Fahrenheit) whereas in Chicago it was minus 6 degrees Fahrenheit with chilly winds (20 degrees).
Chicago beat records of low temperatures as it went to minus 13 degrees back in 1983 O'Hare International Airport overnight, according to Chicago Tribune. It was colder in Chicago over night than in the South Pole, Antarctica, which was around minus 12 degrees according to local time of 3:57 a.m.
However, there are spots on Earth which are colder than Chicago such as the North Pole, currently at minus 18 degrees. Also, the coldest Siberia is at 31 degrees currently.
