At the trailer launch of Raees, actor Shah Rukh Khan was spotted wearing a knee cap. When asked if he is facing trouble with his knee again, he said that he have to undergo a major surgery now which will take 11 to 12 months.
SRK said, "I had a minor surgery back then, now I have to undergo a major surgery which takes 11 to 12 months. So I dont want to take that chance, but I have not had my chance to rehabilitate.
As soon as I am done with all my work I will start with my exercises again. It pains when I walk a little or stand for too long. So you see here. This is a metallic knee cap I am wearing for that purpose," Indian media reported.
On May 21, 2015, Shah Rukh Khan underwent an arthroscopic surgery on his left knee, senior orthopedic surgeon, Dr Sanjay Desai, had told Mumbai Mirror that the 50-year-old actor had been suffering from a prolonged knee problem and in acute pain for over seven years.
"We had treated him with painkillers and injections five months ago but following repeated injuries, the pain had worsened. The chondral fissure of the patella in Mr Khan's knee has completely worn out and repairing it is difficult and will take a lot of time," said Dr Desai.
Khan has been advised to wear his metallic knee-cap all the time.
